Blessed in Our Worries

We worry when gas rises above $4 a gallon; much of the world would be happy to earn this much money in one day.

Our Favorite Time of the Day

Hana Kate’s favorite time of the day is when Daddy gets home from work.  Normally, we sit together on the porch and watch for him to come home.  As soon as she sees him, she gets a huge grin on her face and starts laughing and waving her arms up and down.  Just his arrival [...]

3/4 c. all-purpose flour

Lentil Spaghetti

Lentils can make a great frugal substitute for meats, particularly hamburger/ground meat.  To make lentil spaghetti, I just used about half (in size, not weight) as much dry lentils as I would hamburger meat.  I boiled the lentils until cooked thoroughly, then added tomato sauce and seasonings as I would with normal spaghetti sauce.  Serve [...]
