After seeing Kendra’s great Food Lion deals last week and previous weeks, I was quite sad that we didn’t have a Food Lion nearby. I’d been wanting to make a special steak dinner for Daniel, so when I got 3(!) fliers advertising Food Lion’s specials this week, I decided that the 15 mile drive wasn’t so far after all. Particularly when they were tripling coupons.
Thought I’d pass along a few deals for those with a Food Lion (FL) nearby:
(To my local readers, I went to Piedmont; but there are Food Lions in Spartanburg, Lyman, and Woodruff.)
Ribeye Steak (4.47/lb.)
-$1 off $5 or more Butcher’s Brand (FL) meat coupon
Tyson Whole Chicken Cut Up (.69/lb.)
Bag of Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast BOGO (or 5.99 each)
Ore Ida Zesty Potato Twists (4/$10) sdf
-$2 Any Frozen Ore Ida Potato Product (makes it $.50 for 1bag!)
Breyer’s Ice Cream ($1.99) (!)
Fresh Strawberries (2/$3 or $1.50/lb.)
Bananas ($.27/lb.)
FL Canned corn or beans (.49/can)
-$2 any FL brand canned veggies (came to $.45 for 5 cans, or $.09 per can)
Italian Bread ($1.79)
-$3 any bakery purchase (gave me $1.21 overage)
Gerber 2nd Food Baby Food ($.57)
-$1 any Gerber Baby Food (gave me $.43 overage)
Gerber Baby Fingernail Clippers ($1.45)
-$2 an Gerber Accessories (gave me $.55 overage)
Betty Crocker Cake Mix (10/$10, or $1 each)
Betty Crocker Whipped Frosting ($1.29/tub)
-$.50 peelie coupon found on cake mix, tripled=$1.50 off (gave me $.21 overage)
2 Liter Squirt Citrus Drink ($.75)
-$1/2 hangtag coupon
FL Brand Spread (10/$9.99, or $.99 each)
Since we’ve been under budget for the past few months, I did spend over $20 this week, but I was happy to get everything listed/pictured above for only $28, particularly the 3 meats. I’m sure, though, if you take the time to research the ad and hunt for more coupons, that you could do even better!
*Note: The FL Coupons may only be used once; also, to double coupons (manufacturer’s, limit 10), you must come to a total of $25 (before coupons).
Last night was the start of Daniel’s “birthday week,” so we celebrated with a steak and potato dinner and strawberries and ice cream (no pic of the ice cream–that would show how much we ate!!).

I saw that you got Breyer’s ice cream…I’m jealous.
Very jealous.
I didn’t see mint. I thought of you when I bought it.
You can come eat our vanilla, though.
I had no idea that Food Lion even doubled coupons, let alone tripled them! I shop occasionally at Food Lion, but rarely use man. coupons there because of that. We have several F.L. stores in our town.
birthday week? Wow! Lucky him!
Just for fun this year.
It’s his 25th, which ya know, only happens once in a lifetime. But…don’t they all?
Was the triple coupons a special this week? Our F.L.’s here don’t double or triple.
Yes, it was just a special for this week. Must be regional.
Been prayin’ for you while PT is gone.
I had wanted to hit Food Lion myself but my youngest has been sick this week and just not up to going to Piedmont. My hubby works in Belton, so when we want to hit Food Lion we tie it into a trip to see Dad. Glad you got those great deals.
BTW…are you going to the Saturday yard sale at Save Mor? I’ll be missing it again this time due to my sisters wedding shower. I hope to make it to one again soon. I’d love to see what you get if you do go. It’s so great to see other people saving money!
Breyer’s ice cream for $1.99??? I join the jealous ones!
There is also a Food Lion in Clemson. That is where I go weekly. And the milk is only $2.99 a gallon. I know Sav-Mor has comparable prices on milk. Food Lion doesn’t double coupons normally but they do triple coupons about every month. I usually get lots of bang for my buck at Food Lion.
